What do volunteers do?
One day a year financial aid administrators and other qualified aid
volunteers fan out to selected New Jersey sites across the state to help low-income
families fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
NJASFAA, together with HESAA, has received a grant from the Lumina Foundation
to sponsor NJ College Goal Sunday events throughout the state. The grant
funds this project from 2005 through 2008. Over the next few years NJASFAA
will be pursuing sponsorship/alliances for this initiative to continue after
2008.
We need volunteers do to all sorts of things from helping families fill out
the FAFSA, to greet families as they arrive, to helping with the refreshments
table.
